"Whilst traveling around the world and attending massage therapy courses under different masters of Hawaiian, Indian, Thai, Chinese and Japanese origin, I witnessed various outstanding accounts of people being fixed of serious health problems and physical injuries with a holistic and deep massage that was not being provided in the western world. I began to feel a great passion to learn as much as possible about the full healing potential of massage therapy and return to Australia to help introduce this much deeper approach to massage therapy that can fix people of
years of built up tension and problems by invoking deep emotional and physical release.

Originally I began my study of massage therapy in 1990 in Sydney, Australia, and undertook all the required massage therapy courses and study hours to receive my Remedial (Therapeutic) Massage Diploma in 1991 but as time went on I began to get the occasional massage from therapists that went beyond the feel good rub down I had been taught in my massage education. This inspired me to want to take may practice of massage to a deeper level.
After practicing and receiving massage from practitioners and teachers around Australia and the rest of the world, as well as attending a lot of short courses in massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, shiatsu, and other natural therapies, my style of massage therapy had become very popular, deep and comprehensive.

Being booked out and treating the maximum number of patients that I could deal with, and having numerous requests from patients and newer therapists, I decided to start teaching my style of massage education in a way that I wish I had been taught. I made the massage courses intensive and I didn't teach anything that I wasn't still using after practicing for nearly 10 years.

So, I didn't bother getting everyone to name every muscle in Latin as this is the sort of thing that when you have finished your course you forget unless you are working with a doctor or chiropractor, who speaks like that. Also any techniques that were ineffective I dropped but added lots of techniques from Asian styles of massage and acupressure and added a lot of deep belly massage that I had learnt which helped fix a lot of abdominal and lower back problems. The courses proved very popular and our school started to grow to the point where I was teaching full time and as the demand for courses was greater than what my wife, Rebecca Raynor , and I could provide, we started to hire employees and other teachers to help us with the workload.

From these humble beginnings and only 5 years later almost 5000 graduates are successfully practicing the cutting edge "Raynor Technique" across the globe in locations as diverse as Melbourne, Sydney, Darwin, the Gold Coast, Tasmania, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Auckland, Christchurch, CapeTown, Johannesburg, Durban, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Saskatchewan, Montana, Vermont, Wyoming, Singapore, Dubai and India.
